i have a turbo integra and 1st and 2nd gear doens't last very long. i want longer gears so i can stay in boost longer. is there anyway to make a integra 6 speed? maybe use a rsx type s tranny? and how much would it cost? or is it better just to regear the tranny.

tranny's wouldn't bolt up... making it a 6 speed would reduce the length of gears... if you wanted long gears just get a tranny from an LS (b18b) bolt it up and call it a day

If you wanted to make your tranny a 6 speed than expect to drop between 10K - 20K. Just drop the LS like Delerious said....I did

If you have a GSR motor in your car already, don't belive the hype. Your car will be faster with the GSR trans than the LS trans.

yeah for sure the gsr trans will be faster, but he said he wanted longer gearing.. so we gave him what he asked for :p

how come the gsr tranny will be faster if its shorter? wouldn't you be switching gears faster and not be in boost as long?

This topic could go back and fourth forever. I sounds like having a GSR Tranny WOULD make your car faster cause you are going through the gears faster.
If you are looking for a street machine I would go w/ the LS trans because of the longer gears, It really helps 1st gear traction as long as you have a LSD. Without one you are just pissing in the wind

Think about it for just a second. Shorter gearing makes you accelerate quicker in a naturally aspirated car, right? So immediately longer gearing means you accelerate faster with a turbo because you "stay in boost longer"? Don't belive everything you hear on these forums.
