Ford.

I like Chevy. Maybe just GM in general though. I like the direction they are taking with new models, and the redefining of their whole line of cars. The C6 Corvette is just.. amazing. The GTO is actually a very, very nice car as well. Almost bought one instead of my G35. I think Ford is going to have their hands full in the next few years keeping up with the changes in GM.

Excuse me but this is the Girl Racers Forum not just a Honda Forum. I can be in any forum I want to. Ever heard of Freedom of Speech. I can ask any questions I wish to as long as they are not derogatory against anyone.

people are askin questions about their acuras in the mustang forums. apparrently you were being dicks to your own kind. the stang guys gave him as much help as they could. dont bash on cars just because you hate them. bash on them cause they suck. i hate civics all the way but i could care less if you own one. moral is: dont be a dick, dick. as for the ford or chevy, i definitely lean towards ford.

I would say Chevy. The Ford lineup has never really appealed to me.

darkprincess0330
06-22-2004, 04:48 PM
Just because it is listed under Honda/Acura it does not mean it is just for that. If you noticed when you clicked on it, the title of the forum said Girl Racers' Spot, are you a girl?

mike123
06-22-2004, 04:56 PM

06-26-2004, 02:38 AM
Excuse me! Sorry I do not wear glasses, maybe you should go to a doctor to get your sight checked, It may say honda/acura for it. But if you notice when you clicked on the "Girls Racer's Spot," did you read the word GIRL in the name of the forum. It is about everything girl related, in the car sense, not honda/acura.

SRV BOY
06-26-2004, 01:28 PM

Thank you, 89IROC&RS, what you said is exactly my point. Nicely put. As for you SRV BOY, you need to stop harassing me and go somewhere else if it bugs you so much that we are talking about Ford/Chevy in a "Girl Racers", forum.

Id have to say chevy, Ford has never appealed to me. I like camaros more then mustangs and i love the corvettes. Ill still stick with my import though but american muscle will always be cool.

duplox

For old iron, Ford all the way.
http://www.turboslut.net/stang.jpg
For the mid-late 70s, I'd rather have a bike.
For the 80s, its all the same. Either you have a boring looking camaro with an overused SBC, or a boring looking mustang with an overused 5.0. Then again I like Ford's motors better, so I'd probably just go with the mustang.
For 90s, mustangs looked better than the camaros. The newest camaros are so blah and boring. And obviously Ford for the new stuff, no competition from chevy. Corvettes are nice, but I like how a mustang looks more, and for the same ammount of $$ a Cobra can take a z06 vette..(i'm gonna get flamed for that one...). As for the best of both companies... Ford - '69 Mustang Boss 429, Chevy - late '60s vettes... I'd rather have the mustang, but thats just me. For 'big cars', muscle cars, you have the Torino vs the Chevelle... I'm a fan of both. A Torino packin a 429/460 or a Chevelle with a 454... dont make me choose!
So all in all, I'd rather have a Ford, but I wouldn't turn down a chevy. Chevy has had some excellent cars, so has Ford, I just prefer Ford motors. seems like everything has a SBC or BBC in it, even old ford rods!

didnt camaros take out the mustangs every year(stock for stock) untill the v6 supercharged one that the vette can still take out

darkprincess0330

Dang, duplox mustang is hella nice. What is under the hood?

duplox
07-28-2004, 06:22 PM
right now, nothing.. I have the motor pulled and I'm rebuilding it. Its a 351 Cleveland, 2v garage-ported iron heads, main girdle, polished and shot peened stock rods, stock prepped crank, forged high silicon pistons, 1/2 filled block.. garage fabricated headers and intake, custom ground cam, electric water pump.. Fuel injection... And two turbos. Its being built to withstand a good 15psi, air-water intercooled. The block is .030 over, so it comes out to like 358 cubic inches. Power wise, I'm confident it can break 700hp and torque on 15psi with cold water in the intercooler on pump gas(93 octane, R+M/2 method), but my transmission(c4 auto) is only built to take 550hp, so I'm going to limit it to 8psi until I get a new trans. Driveshaft is aluminum, moser aluminum spool in a 9", 3.50 gears, moser 31 spline axle shafts. Either looking into a Satchell type 4 link rear suspension with coil overs, or just keeping the leafs and throwin on some Cal-Tracs.
And thanks for the compliment! :)

evrey time i think of ford i remember the crap they have made pintos, escorts, tarus and i cant go beyond that so chevy all the way.

darkprincess0330
07-29-2004, 04:05 PM
Just because they made some crappy cars, every company has, you should not disregard them. Their good out ways their bad in car production.

I would have to say Chevy. I would not own a ford, although the Lightnings are very impressive. My midlife crisis will result in a twin turboed vette. ;)

darkprincess0330
08-25-2004, 02:37 PM
Haha. Why a twin turbo vette? Why would you not own a Ford?

GirlSolRacer
08-25-2004, 06:45 PM
Why NOT a twin turbo vette???? ;) The day that I have enough money to buy a vette (and cover the insurance) I am going to bring it right over to Lingenfelter performance for the $40,000 job. When they are done I can go to the track and run 9's, but still drive it to work and back. I know that pretty expensive, on top of the price of a vette, but that's what I have always wanted.

And I just don't like fords, although they are better than dodge. I have worked on quite a few and I just don't like them as much as chevy/gm.

darkprincess0330

Thats cool, I just thought maybe you had a particular reason for not liking them. So people do.

I do not really care for Chevy because my dad has a Chevy Truck and it keeps falling a part and lots of people I talk to have a lot of mechanical problems with them. Why is that?

I would have to say chevy, Fords are just huge pieces of junk. :eek7:

darkprincess0330

Chevy seems to fall apart more often and easier than a Ford does, at least a Ford lasts a while before it starts to fall apart.

I'd have to go with chevy.

It's weird that you say that, because in all of my experiences it's Ford that always falls apart first, has major problems early on, and are harder to get some parts for. Chevy's seem to last a lot longer. Around here you see old chevy trucks still running, and hardly ever see an older ford unless it's been completely rebuilt a few times.

And as for domestic and foreign, how many ford parts are made in the US? Most are made and muilt in Mexico. And there are a lot of parts for my hondas that are made in the US. I'm not saying all of them, and I know the company's are based from here, but a lot of parts aren't made where you think they are.....
