I have not taken an exact measurement but would say somewhere in the area of 7 to 8 inches of travel.

Yes I know what a dry sump system is. Nascar has been using them for years as well as prob any other racing curcuit out there. Raced my first import today. One of those nissan sentra type R. I think thats what ya call em. Needles to say the the computer I had programmed performed flawless and the Nissan well lets just say he got some rocks in his teeth. Question for whoever has the answer....What is the top speed of a 2000 si?....I took mine to 130 without any trouble. I would say it may have another 15 mph to go maybe.
Anyway I kinda got off track on the dry sump system. Explain to me why my suspension is going to have any bearing on my oiling system.

That's a pretty sweet ride. Lime green motor, purple valve cover, half primered body kit, quad exhaust, AWESOME 18's, pink brake calipers, and vertical doors. A very tasteful, clean, original ride. My props.

Anyway I kinda got off track on the dry sump system. Explain to me why my suspension is going to have any bearing on my oiling system.

ok you know who uses the system but do you know why? the whole point of a dry sump system is to stop oil starvation on hard corners. During hard corners (on cars with conventional oil systems) the oil moves around and can starve the oil pump and the motor which can cause damage to the internals. now in your car, especially with airbags, you will never be taking a turn at a high enough speed to need a dry sump system. the reason you hear that those cars in professional racing use them is because they are taking turns at way higher speeds and pulling way more G's then you can imagine. like i said on any honda that is street driven, a dry sump system is way overkill and completely unnecessary.

Not exactly my purpose for using it........With a dry sump system you dont have the oil pump robbing free hp from your motor.....No oil pump to drive as well as a cooler oiling system.......And should I decide to swap and road race I am already set.......But thank you for your concern. quite honestly your logic for buying it is completely out of whack but its your money. the oil pump drag on the motor is negligible and a cooler oiling system could be had with a 100 bucks for an oil cooler. and as far as swapping to road race, that would be a very dumb idea considering the amount of body work and exterior mods are on the car. im also certain there will be a sounds sytem and custom interior and all this would be useless if you plan on going road race.

and maybe i chose the wrong word when i said overkill. its just plain stupid. but then again it is YOUR MONEY and since you have your heart stuck on something then do it. but the gains you see from it will not be noticable and it will cost you extra money that you could put to buying nicer rims, a louder system, etc etc.

come to think of it, ive never seen even a full road racing honda using dry sump. if anything real enthusiasts would laugh at you for having it. but then again with the responses youve been getting on the car, it wont be too out of the ordinary... :2cents:

Here is the weights of the fiberglass vs Carbon fiber.

FIBERGLASS:
3/4oz per square foot
(6.75oz per square yard)

Fiberglass requires approximately 1-1/2 to 2 times its own weight in resin for complete saturation.(example: 1LB of mat needs 1-1/2 to 2 LBS of resin)

Ok and know the Carbon Fiber:
(5.7oz per square yard)

It's called the club of respect, but you can't join because although people here may respect you for the time you've spent and the things you've done to your car but don't respect you for your attitude. I'm going to. I have a friend that gets CF from his work at cost so we're going to get some and cover my rear hatch and then the roof. Ya know why? Cause covering my hatch will save me $500, and it's way too fucking hard to make a new roof. I'm actually going to buy a CF hood though. Why am I going to cover these things, cause CF is fucking cool looking. Do you diss people when they paint their car and do many layers? No, cause the look is amazing. I feel the same way about CF, I would rather have that covering my whole car than a paint job. Sure, it might add some weight, but who cares. There's more to cars than performance. So don't even think about dissing someone for putting some tasteful appearance mods on their car. Cover something with CF is cool. :icon16:

yeah a dry sump system doesnt have an oil pump to rob 'free hp' from your motor, it has 2 oil pumps robbing hp from your motor! lol just because the pumps are probably electric you think they don't use hp? where do you think that electricity comes from? edman also had it correct when he said you could spend much less money and have less trouble installing an oil cooler in your car if you were that concerned with having cooler oil.

yeah a dry sump system doesnt have an oil pump to rob 'free hp' from your motor, it has 2 oil pumps robbing hp from your motor! lol just because the pumps are probably electric you think they don't use hp? where do you think that electricity comes from? edman also had it correct when he said you could spend much less money and have less trouble installing an oil cooler in your car if you were that concerned with having cooler oil.

God DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhh!!!!!! I'm not siding but.... our alternators are kinda weak Im guessing? If you ever sit at idle in park, with power windows, roll down your windows, and just keep holding the button even after the window stops. Notice the engine very noticably drop or alter in RPM's. Push it, let it go, push it,you can notice the car trying to make up for the power, just like turning on the air conditioner. Turn on your lights, rpms change a lil. Put on your brights, even lower the rpms go. press all 4 power window buttons at the same time, DAMN. It does this in my explorer as well. Some people race with their head lights turned off also. I guess every lil bit of power/less stress is cherrished? Again, I'm not siding but little things such as a fucking window motor/regulator can alter the car's rpm. None of you BETTER DAMN FUCKING flame me for anything I have just said.. :mad:
