drift style skirts

I'm trying to put some drift style skirts on my eclipse, but as you may or may not know, they have an air dam type recess toward the rear fender part. The inside of the air dam hits the rear fender before everything else, so it doesnt want to seat properly. Any suggestions? :banghead:

cut the inner part of the skirt out to make it flush with the rear 1/4 panel. Then add some mesh. It's a nice clean look and solves your problem. That way you have a flat area in the rear of the skirt instead of the bubble from the "vent". this happens a lot with cheaper kits. Good luck

Don't forget to to put a good layer of resin and sand down the area you cut though. otherwise you'll rin into problems with cracking and flaking paint once you paint them cause of the stray hairs and so on. Guess I could have edited that huh. Oh well

Not sure I quite understand what you mean.

the drift skirts (if i remember correctly) have a large vent to the rear. but it isn't open, its glassed over. causing excess glass toward the quarter panel. cut that excess "bubble" of glass in th rear, fill it with mesh, and it should mount up fine. giving you an actual opened vent instead of just looking like one. let me know if u need any more help. pics of the skirt would help too

shave down the vent to make it fit. or cut the body of the car and fit it in there. it's not rocket science...
