crx doesnt start

this morning i was about to pull onto the street when my car just kinda died. it wasnt like a slow thing it just totally lost power and now it wont do anything. when you turn the key there is just a single thud noise and thats all that happens. im thinkin its the starter but im not really sure. oh and it was raining really really hard but i dont think i went through any really deep puddles.
