Strut Bar

I have the option of putting a strut bar on my 99 Accord EX-V6. Is it really worth the trouble, or is it just for cars that take corners at 90mph?

no it's not worth the trouble unless your into drifting or just doing fast turns. I have the same car as you except a 98 and the strut bar did some good as in performance wise when it comes to turns and it's easy to install and take out. hey just wonder what brand of strut bar did you get because not alot of brand names or manufacturers make strut bars for our ex v6. I had to do alittle customizing when I put mine on.

Oh, I haven't actually purchased the bar yet. It's on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7904746473&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT) and I wanted to know more before I bothered bidding. It just says 98-02 Honda Accord, it doesn't specify coupe or 4-door.

Anywho, thanks for the info. I figured it wasn't as good as it looked. BTW, not a lot of ANY manufacturer makes stuff for our EX-V6... Every friggin' thing for civics, but nothing for Accords... alas...

yeah thats true well hey what do you have a coupe or a sedan. it's easier for you to find stuff if you have a coupe but as for me it's kind of a complicated task because I have a sedan. the price looks right for the strut bar and I don't think you have to do any customizing job on your engine like mine but don't waste your time. you'll make your tires wear out faster because you'll have more grip while doing turns but at the same time your causing your tires to wear out.

I've got a sexy little coupe. Yeah, I didn't think about the tire wear thing. You've got a point.

I have one on mine. I think the larger the strut bar is the more pressure is added to the tires during cornering. Mines is only 45mm
