race help

ok guys i have a race that i HAVE to win to make my point. im running the impreza brighton 1997 2.2l auto. im up agenst an 86 mustang 5.0 no blower no turbo no nos in the stang. what do i need to do to my ride to win this match.

right thats what im thinking. i need it soon, kinda cheep and easy. im going turbo eventualy once i get all my pieces togeather but im still gathering. i was thinking that a nitrus boost might get me in there. im just afraid of pushing it to hard since this is my daily driver anymore and dont have full coverage on it incase i blow the engine. about how much boost. i read an article on how to hook up no2 fast and easy with just normal induction for like 15 bux + nitrus components and converting the windshiled wiper fluid to an alcohol fuel tank to up the boost even more. what do you guys think???

Josh is right. an N/A EJ22 isn't going to touch that mustang (I guess if Cobb made cams and pistons and all that for it, you could spend a hell of a lot of money and get with it). If you're going to beat him, you going to have to go turbo. For me, that's too much money for speed I don't need.

am going to turbo soon enough i just need something to come atleast close for now. nitrous is fine aslong as i dont blow the engine.

Find somebody with an STI so you can watch the guys ego get walked all over, there's no need to destroy your own car over this, which you're likely to do at this rate.

I'm with Ray. You sound like you're talking about beating him by any means nessessary. I'd find someone with a WRX or STi to knock his ego outta the sky and be done with it.

i know some peps but he'll just whine well thats a preformance car anyways so it doesnt matter. given it will mess up his ego not the same if i do it. even if its not a complete victory even if i just get damn close it will make a point still.

I'd keep puttin it off until I could go FI, then. Let him talk even more crap, and get an even bigger ego so I could knock him flat on his ass later on down the road. That's just my thinking though.
