QUICK!! Speaker Installation

Its probably an old thread, but, i am trying to put in some 6x9s in the rear kick panel in my 91 laser....but the speaker magnet is too deep, and it wont fit. Is there any way of modifying the speaker mount to make it fit an extra inch?

Try grinding some stuff out.

dont grind stuff out i think that the wheel well is what your running into. you could try hammering it out some or just buy shallower speakers

You could always make a new enclosure for them with fiberglass or wood...better advice this time...

After about 4 hours of some tial and error, i got the damn things to fit, i just modified the mounting bracket. But that is a good idea to fiberglass a new one....maybe build it so i can put a 10" sub in each kick panel?

hey they should come with a mounting bracket its like 1/2inch think and it goes under the speaker... it looks like a oval ring!
