If you have a WRX and never took it off road you are missing out! I went driving in the backwoods of Alabama on dirt roads and it was awesome. after taking it off road im convinced that it was not meant for the street just be ready to wash it.

Look at the cars heritage......it's meant for everything!

very true, but I was talking about street only. do the car a favor and loose the roads for a little while.

Yeah, in Alabama we got red clay and red dust to get all over your spiffy paint job. It's worth it, though. Getting it sideways Dukes of Hazzard style is pretty spec-dang-tacular.

what are you talking about, the wrx has about the worst paint job you can get stock it needs about 3 more coats, I will be investing in some touch-up paint. In all truth if you are worried about red dust on your car you need to go buy a srt-4 and give the WRX to someone who enjoy driving it like it should be driven.

Hey Andy,
Do you have splash guards on your car?
If not, I recommend some, the stones will chew up the paint around the wheels otherwise.

Oh, and you're unfortunately right about the paint being on the thin side :(

 the AWD is definately fun in the mud and such. I like my Legacy off road as long as they aren't any potholes. I turbo Outback would be awesome to take offroad...clearance and power... :naughty:

I do not have splash guards as it is. if I keep the off-roading up I will need to get some. I want a 2nd wrx now with rally springs rear diff protector and skid pad lol and to hell with the paint job

Have you guys seen the STi spats for the GC? They're so streamlined and small, I have to wonder if they'd actually do any good... :dunno:

Oh, I just complain about the dirt b/c my WRX is black. I love getting offroad, I just hate washing the sumunabitch (already... and I've only had it for two or three weeks). I actually haven't taken the WRX offroad yet, though. I used to rally in my Neon and in my Saturn, though, and that Alabama red clay is hell to clean off.
I wasn't aware our paintjobs were thin. I guess I'll be buying stock in Mother's Wax...
I wonder if anybody makes Yosemite Sam mudflaps for the WRX...

PS- I loathed my Neon with a fiery passionate hatred. It recently died of natural (for a Dodge) causes. I'm glad it's dead. The death of the Neon paved the way for the WRX. SRT-4's can kiss my white, hairy armpit. Long live the Subie!
