didnt start till about 4 weeks ago... now everytime i start up my car it usually takes 2 tries (each time starter motor turning and the engine not turning)... when it finally does turn over, very rough for a about 10-15 seconds before going normal... is it the extremely humid weather here? or is it something else? im going to replace the distributer cap & rotor in a couple of weeks... hope its just that...

do you mean the 'starter motor turning and the ENGINE NOT RUNNING' ? or the starter making noise but the engine does NOTHING? if it's the former, the cap&rotor could cause this.....be sure to check the sparkplugs also as very worn plugs accellerate cap/rotor burning due to the much higher firing voltages.

the former, in which case hopefully when i replace them in a little over a week it should be better, also replaced the spark plugs a little more than a month ago

i am experiencing the same problem. yesterday the car started fine. I went to the office. In evening when i was about to return home(from office), the car just wouldnt start. The starter makes noise but the engine DOES NOTHING and DOESNT STARTUP. Any ideas what culd be wrong. I would like to check certain things myself before i take the car to a dealer who are going to charge me an arm and a leg :((

wooha, trade in body parts is still illegal in the NW, maybe offer them your first born......never mind, back to your problem. By 'DOES NOTHING', i'm meaning the engine doesn't crank over but you can hear the starter motor running. could you be more specific ? thanks.........jb
