Ok here is the situation, i have a 760w amp and 2 1000w sony x's and when the bass hits my cars power goes way down. The person who installed this system installed it directly from the amp to the battery. The box that is "suppose" to be between the battery and amp is not there. Could this be the problem? If not, please help me out.

I'm guessing this "box" is just a fuse box and no this would not be the cause of your low voltage. Your car's e;ectrical system is just weak and your amp drains a lot of power out of it...suprising from sony, but w/e. Try upgrading your batteries ground alt. ground and make sure your amp has a good strong...short.. ground....if this doesn't fix the problem you may want to look into a new alternator and or a better battery.

also (from www.bcae1.com (http://www.bcae1.com)):
Simple Test: If you want to see if your alternator is producing current, turn on your headlights when you're parked and the engine idling with the headlights shining on a wall (at night). Notice how bright they are. Then turn the engine off. The lights should get dimmer when you turn the engine off. If the lights get brighter when you kill the engine, the alternator was not charging sufficiently. When doing this test, the lights should be the only load (turn the stereo, a/c and other accessories off). With a heavy load, an otherwise good alternator may not be able to produce sufficient amounts of current at idle.
