I'm new to imports, and most everything. I was wondering if the difference in performance of say an AEM Cold Air Intake ($180) and the cheeper ones ($35) is noticible. My ride is an 88 CRX Si (the last remaining stock CRX)

Its been discussed lots in old threads. Pretty much just the the air filter itself, and the CARB sticker.

Get the cheap one, but get a good K&N filter.

yea, I've heard this disscussed many times and I think SiZ is right. Just buy a cheap pipe and then go to AutoZone and buy the filter.....

lol or maybe even some bendable dryer hoesing the silverkind for so bling bling and then you could put it anywhere cuz it would just bend around whatever then use an old sock and some chicken wire for an air filter

actually i think the cheaper ones are bette, cause IMO the AEM piping is to small, and most of the ones i see the piping is a lot bigger

What I have on my car cost me about $50, and Im pushing around 400hp to the ground. I have a giant K&N, and I had a friend make me some piping. Intakes dont matter a whole lot, invest your money in other places (not bodykits, please avoid the bodykits)

Sounds like everyone's sayin what I figured. Thanx for clearin that up. I've seen the PVC trick done a few times, but I think I'll keep it a little cleaner. I guess that counts out Chicken wire too.
Thanx again for the advice.

No dry duct, PVC piping, chicken wire, floor vents.. At least keep it a little professional. :)
