check engine code 02

I have a 99 protege and the check engine light came on the other day, I whent to the dealer to get the PUTER diagnostic code and the gave me 02, The tell me the both my oxygen sensors are CAPUT..... The car is working perfecly NO TROBLE AT ALL.....

The light whent OFF for a while ????? came back on and still the same %^%^&%^^&**(()()(&&( nwhat is going on, They tell me that this is a 1000 $$ job BOTH sensors are bad.


What is your opinion on this i dont trust mazda because from what i can read oxygen sensor problem your care does not work well.....

Here it is... i just whent to two other dealers. Mecanics and withou telling them what MAZDA sais, they both came up with a code starting with a P with is linked to a small sensor relating to antipolution Ho by the way this one is 30 $ compared to the two 400$ oxygen sensorrs mazda whanted to change. Mazda charged me 100 $ the give me the diagnostic for 1400 $ of repair... OCTO garage in HULL quebec :) found the problem replaced the sensor for 120 $ if i would if did it my self 2 Hours plus 30$ ...


AND THEY SAY WE TREAT THEM LIKE ROBERS.......???????

Hi Charles I have a protege 99 and I hava the same problem with the oxygen sensors and just want to know what did u do or what did you replace?,, I went to the dealer and they sale the parts so expensive for both sensors is like $550 plus labor so i just wondering if you can tell me how did you fix your car please,, thank you Charle
