how bad is a 2.576 60'

its not that bad especially for a RWD car my best is a 2.175 with my stock 99 SS so your not too far behind that and you got the LT1 and less HP.

What car you getting a 2.5 in?
Assuming you are RWD, have some level of power and the tranny is not an issue ... you should be sginificantly lower in the 60's.

RWD should get significantly better 60's than a FWD car.

I am able to get at least 2.1-2.2's in my non-turbo MR2.
I get 1.6s-1.8s with my turbo MR2.

What is happening when you are luanching?
Are you spinning the tires? Bogging? ... is your clutch fried?

azn3000GTRacer, .1 in the 60' is relative to .2 at the end of the track. Your 2.175 is .4 faster than his. That means you would have been .8 faster in the 1/4 mile ... about 8 cars lengths or more!

i spin alot of tire and if i dont i bog down i still havn't learned how to launch my car and im on street tires

Well, you should be able to get something like a 2.20s or so in your car. Friend of mine had a 1993 S-10 with a 4.3 V-6 auto. and it had somethign like a 2.66 60 ft. time.

You're doing OK since you're new at it but once you learn how to launch the car, then you'll see big improvements.

Street Tires:
What tire pressure? (foornt and back)
What size (width) rear tires?

Well, you can gain a lot by losing some rear tire pressure ... if you have a 45 sseries sidewall, drop it down to 25 psi. If you are taller than 45 series, drop is down to 22 psi or so.

... if you are on a stick car, slip the clutch more.
Keep the revs up at the line and when you the light turns, do a quick slip of the clutch and do not go WOT UNTIL you feel the "tug" ...

man i love my AWD Talon.... my 60ft is right at1.5.... and it's an automatic :D
