A/C Hammering sound

Along with all the other A/C questions lately, I have one: When I have my A/C on fan speed 3 or higher, and am accelerating hard (3000 RPM and above ) I notice a loud, metalic hammering-like sound that intesifies as my RPM go higher. Is this normal? Not really a big deal - it's gone as soon as I turn off fan, but just wonderin. Thanks.

when it engages it makes a loud POP! or Snap!and hisses right? If you nail on the gas and suddenly let go it can make the clutch kick off the ac for a duration till the rpms are lower and the engine calms down.

Well no, not really. I mean the only weird sounds it makes is the metallic hammering sound with high RPM when the A/C's on. I can have the fan on setting 5 and it doesn't hammer under acceleration, but as soon as I turn on AC and accelerate, I hear a hammering sound when I get over 3000 RPM about.

metalic = sound really really bad , hope you find the problem soon before you throw a belt and screw up the engine.

Are you sure? I mean I ONLY hear that sound with A/C on & Fan on high setting, & under hard acceleration. I have the be doing all of those to hear it, and as soon as I let off it it stops. My engine has no problems at all that I can tell, it runs and performs fine. I thought that sound was just A/C related, but I could be wrong.

if its from the engine bay, id suggest checking out the clutch like mark was sayin, if its from the inside like under the dash, could just be the blower motor got some leaves or something in it......

Thanks for your input guys - good news believe it or not it just stopped today :) apparently it must've been something in the blower cause I can't get it to do it again no matter how hard I try. Good to know I aint gonna throw a belt or somethin.

I think that was the bushing in the fan , mine does that here and there too
