Burden?

Hey yall, im a 17 year old guy looking at a 98 firebird with a 3800 v6 under the hood. I have had people tell me about the financial burdens this car puts on you, but is it really that much of a burden to own when its older? Also, what year firebird is the best, and does the v6 still drink gas? thanks

I don't think the v6 will suck too much gas, least not like the v8 does. As far as being a burden I doubt that. I've got a v8 which is supposed to be even more of a burden but it's not. You may have to fight with the pop-up lights on occasion but they're not too bad to fix. I'd vote for a 98+ firebird personally, I just like the body style more. Although if we were talking T/As I'd vote for a 96 or 97 'cause I like that style better.
