overheating?? maybe..?

i have a 97 Z71 and about a week ago it overheated big time...coolant blowin out the bottle. i got a new air filter cuz mine was caked full of mud and shit and also hosed my radiator from the inside out cuz it also had a lot of junk packed in it. it hasnt overheated since but i think its still running hot. about 200-225, what is a good average temp for this truck?

my truck's guage runs at 210. factory guages are about as accurate as potato salad and a spoon at a rifle range, though.
it sounds as if your truck overheated due to lack of airflow in the rad., but for security reasons, i'd replace the thermostat to be safe.
if a thermo sticks, it can cause overheating and then unstick and go back to normal. it can stick again, and either leave you sit, or damage the engine. for less than 10 bux, and a little time, it's worth the effort. :p
