My air condition compressor is making a pinging/jingling sound when the AC is off, when I turn it on, I hear the pump kick on and then the sound stops. :banghead: What's going on here?
I signed a paper stating that the AC unit is covered under warranty, but I can't find it anywhere... Hopefully the dealer will have it.

That's all I needed to hear.. I'm not paying for a new AC compressor so the dealer can whack my bank account. If it's not broke, I'm not going to fix it.
Although it is pretty loud at times driving down the road.
When I give it gas, it gets a bit louder. Then sometimes it goes away completely.
Well, thanks a bunch for your input,
Gary

Mine does it too , i have a video of it too prove it. But the A/C is like the arctic so they wont replace under warranty. Its my ac clutch bearings , they have dirt and debris in there making it loud as hell. When its off its loudest so it must be the clutch. I had a fit till the dealer checked the ac system for free.

I called Wright Pontiac today (My dealership) and they said the entire air condition unit is covered under my warranty.. 36,000 mile or 36 months from the time I purchased the car.
They are going to replace a new AC compressor.
Now my question is, will they recharge my system when they replace the new compressor, or will they cap it off and save themselves the time and money? I told the guy in the service department that my AC blows ice cold on max, but it blows warmer air on regular...he said, it might have to do with the compressor, they will look in to it.

No! That is not right, If I were you, I would ask to talk with the supervisor/manager of the dealership. I bought my '99 Grand Am in August of 2002 and I got a value gaurd warranty. I got an extra 36,000 miles or 36 month warranty.

Ya , its the dealership I work at , thanks for the concern tho. The shop foreman didnt even look at it and he says "it sounds normal" then I had my fit and they tested it and said "it blows cold so we cant fix it under warranty" shows how they treat there employees huh
