Pen sketched concept car, colored

Here it is, my first ever colored car and my first time using markers. it turned out ok.

I sketched it using a ball point pen..

What type of car is it?

Looks ok, you need to sort out the roof and back wheel. When you use markers you need to use long smooth hand strokes. Also, the front air intake by the front wheel is alot bigger than the rear wheel, which makes the rear one look a bit wierd. Good for a first try though! I'm sure AnsisK will write a book full of information to help you improve! :D j/k.

I did it in pen so there was kinda no turing back so i just went with it. I think i did to fast too. Next time im gonna spend more time coloring certian parts of the car...


...plus i had about four prisma markers only that were kind of dry so i need to by some more.

Here is a quick sketch of the car from another angle. Maybe it will give you a better idea of it. less cartoonish looking

It still is a bit cartoony.

Your lines are too bouncy and bubbly. Don't be afraid of using a ruler. I'd also make the far-side windscreen line less steep.

i was on the mountain, and i saw the land below.
i was below and in the land, and i saw the mountain when i looked up.
when i looked up, i saw the opposite direction of where i stood.
from where i stood, i could remain either on land
or climb back up the mountain. :)

your climbing a mountain, and you slip so your hanging upside down. Your in the middle of the mountain...you can see the land when you look down...and yoiu can see the mountain when you look up...when you look up, its the opposite direction of where you stand because your upside down...and you can either repel all the way down to be on the ground, or flip your self to the right direction and continue to climb the mountain.

OK back on topic, when you say you're done with this drawing, you're wrong, because you arent done. you wanna know why you aren't done, because theres NO SIDE VIEW!!!

the second sketch you posted, the one that is unfinished and without the rear wheel, is really good. that is getting to a point where you can seriously finish it.

add some side-mirrors (make sure they are in the same baselines) and work a bit more on sexying up the front fascia/intercooler opening. add some foglights on either side of it.

and then color it. pay attention this time to reflections and textures. strive to get away from "flat" coloring. look at some of your favorite import 'zines for this. or go out, better yet, and look at your own car. or your parent's cars, whomever it is that owns a car. :)
