ok... problem.

my trunk seems to be an asshole. i went in today to look for my other shiftknob and i moved the wooden part, to reveal a PUDDLE in the spare tire thing. that little uhm.. \_/ area. forget the word.

i checked my weather stripping and it seems ok for the most part. no signs of wear. i checked where my wing is mounted and its not sealed but its on the other side of the weather stripping.

cant have a custom sub system/ amp rack if i have a leaky trunk!

oh, and what fun i spent $40 today to replace my honda passenger vent after i broke it off. heh.. but help me with my trunk troubles!

I cant help ya with the trunk leak, other than to say you should replace your seals (weather stripping)..

But, for your vent, u mean the far right one? right next to the window? I broke mine in half cuz i wanted to paint it, but the fucker wouldnt come out, it just snapped. howw do u get it off w/o breaking it?

well... there are clips there and then some other plastic shit. i dont think honda intended for them to be removed. but... i was prying it off and said fuck it. so i just ripped real hard and snapped it in 4 pieces. went inside and ordered a new one for $40 :ouch:

i have also noticed some dampness in my trunk. The seals look fine, i think the water just in the door and drips down into the floor. THose side water traps also collect water.

Underneath the spare tires there should be 2 circular rubber seals. They are a little bigger than quater sized. Oh my dads car we took this off and rinsed out the spare wheel well cause it was really dirty. Maybe this is your problem?

Don't know what to tell you about the trunk, but in response to the tangent question of the vents. Use the SMALLEST flathead screwdriver you can find, and pry underneath and undo all the little clips.

Be careful not to scratch your vinyl when using the screwdriver!

does your trunk close flush to the rest of the car? if not then that could be it.

If that is not is, you wouldn't happen to have straw or leaves causing a blockage for the water to run down to the rear of the car would you? ....sounds stupid to ask, but if the weather stripping is in good shape don't see what else it can be

I believe the sunroof drains to the back in your car, those drains may be clogged causing water leaks. Also check the tail light seals, could be there.

I was told that there are internal drains for the sunroof which drain towards the back of the car and can get clogged, thus leaking into the trunk. This is what I was told, I have never seen these drains but it was from a mechanic who works on Hondas a lot (it was actually an integra I had which had the problem).
