I have a 97 GP and since this past winter I have noticed a nice size rust hole on both left and right rocker panels. My question is there any type of warranty for body rust for the GP’s. If so is there a mileage limit to the warranty, and since I bought it used from the dealer would I be qualified for the warranty. My car have about 81,000 miles on it now.

I plan on fixing it any ways, but if it is covered I might as well save some $$. I have also bought splash guards from www.pfyc.com (http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PFYC&Product_Code=GP1022&Product_Count=16&Category_Code=GPEXT) to make sure this doesn’t happen again in the future, Grand prix owners should take a look at them, their nice!

I just stoped by my dealership, and he said he would look in to it, but he said that he thinks it is a 100,000 or 5 year warranty. If you have any insight on it let me know, and ill post what my dealership said. thanks

My guess is that you are outside of the warranty on this one. Plus, in order to make the claim, you'd have to prove that the rust was a result of product defect and not owner neglect.

well the dealer called me today, said that the warranty was up in june of 2003, so my guess is that it was a 100,000 or 6 year warranty. Oh well, it looks like im gona have to do it my self, shouldnt cost to much.
