OK, I've decided to make this drawing a lot more detailed than usual. I've done the outline so far.
To do the outline I used a ruler to measure the placement of the basic lines, then the detail is freehand. Took me about 2-3 hours. Hopefully I can get somewhere near the standard of Al's and Alex's drawings.

Do you like it so far?
Thanks,
Ross.

By the way, is it a 67 camaro or a 68?

wow!! very nice Ra_15!!
I like it a lot. Good reference helps.
It occured to me that your drawing would look really cool on a shirt. Converting straight pencil to halftones or indexing is a pain, and since you loose some dot on the screen it's better to make it more of a graphic.
Hell...I'll show you what I mean. Hold on......
now no offense I of course would never try to offend you in any way. I would never take your stuff either, just giving you some food for thought. ok?
So I did a quick increase contrast, to lose some white, then I adjusted levels. I really scrunched in on it because next I converted to bitmap as a halftone. I set it to round and 55 dots per inch at a 45 degree angle....anyone know why?....That's right to eliminate moire!!
http://www.58vw.com/af/cam1.jpg
I just know it would look cool on a white shirt, or if you took the negative, trimmed it to the shape of the car and printed it with white ink on a black shirt it would be awesome!! All the black would be created by the shirt itself and the car would emerge from the fabric.
Here's the halftone up close so you can see what it looks like.
http://www.58vw.com/af/cam2.jpg
Once again no offense...just brain food.
Excellent work. I'll keep my eye on you from now on.

p.s. Tell the printer to burn it on at least a 220 and to extend the black so you don't get dot gain and gum up the works.

Do you want to do it as a shirt? I would have no idea how to do it, so if you wanted to, go ahead.
If so, do you want it at a higher resolution?
p.s, would you be able to sell them?

LOLOL
I don't want to print it on a shirt. I want YOU to print it. In this case you would want to get permission from the car owner, the photographer (Al), and probably find out what Chevy has to say.
Now Chevy will try to bust you up for a license. They may not even mess with you until you try to sell your Camaro shirts at the local Chevy club show. Then they'll snatch your shirts like the cops did B-reals crops in that one song. However if you go to the Chevy club and swing a deal with them....ah-ha!!.... the car clubs are licensed and allowed to print the cars on shirts hats, buckets...whatever.
Put the clubs name around it and waa-laa!! (I know GTMike...I know...friggin grammer police) Like this:
http://www.58vw.com/af/cam3.jpg
Charge $100 bucks plus charge $1 over the cost of the shirts. If they order 100 shirts you get $200. I actually charge $2 over the shirt. Sometimes more.
Give Al $30 and thank him too.

hahahaha
The t-shirt printer makes the shirts. Look up screenprinters in the phonebook. To find out about Chevy or Camaro clubs in your area. Go to a car dealer (you got one of those right?), or look online.
Now I'm not trying to make you do this, it just looked like it would make a cool one.
You know lets just get back to drawing. What's next for you?

Forgive me for asking this, Lemorris.
Have you showed us how to create the tone that is needed or expected by the print shop? I mean how you converted Ross' drawing to the "dots". I know you mentioned some time ago but I cannot remember where that info is.
Give Al $30 and thank him too.
Hey that is the best advice Lemorris has given. I like that? :iceslolan
No worries the photos I post are royalty free, you guys do whatever you want to them, and if you can make lots of $ even better.
One thing I just learned, I didn't realize you needed permission from the owner of the car, I always thought just the photographer and/or manufacturer.
Thx

I'll get into some of the halftone stuff with this Buick I'm workin on Al.
The conversion is pretty basic. Save as bitmap select the dpi and the angle.
The trick is only halftoning the fills and not the outline. I have a trick that works really good though. We'll go detail on the Buick thing.
