My 90 cougar LS is my train station car. It has its share of problems, but it runs well and has been proven to be dependable.

Starting two days ago (90+ degrees) my driver side window decided it does not like to go up and down unassisted. In the past the glass had come off of the arm that raises and lowers the window so that was naturally the first thing I checked. The silicone that I had put there was still holding strong,

It seemed as if when the motor was running it was struggleing to get the window to move. It worked with a little assistance. I tried lubricating the tracks and it helped slightly but the window does not work without some "manual assistance".

To add to the confussion, in the AM before it gets really hot, the window seems to function much better?

Now I am lost, does anyone have any ideas? Did I mention my AC doesnt work and Im sweating my nvts off!

The motor is weak; It has enough power to side the window over the cold rubber in the morning, but once the sun warms the rubber and it becomes "sticky-er" and the motor does not have the strength necessary. replace the motor.
