I just finished a z6 engine swap(block&head) and Iam using my si dizzy, ecu and intake manifold. Now for starters, the two bolts on the dizzy that are supposed to line-up, DID NOT LINE-UP!! Iam not sure why, because acording to everybody else, at least two holes are supposed to line up. so I basically had to zip tie the dizzy on the top hole and use a bolt on the hole on the rear just to sit it tight. Anyways, it did fire up and ran smooth, until it warmed up and then began to sound like a misfire and was blowing some white smoke. So its now throwing a code 16-Fuel Injector System (defective circuit or unplugged / defective fuel injector). Ive tried fuel injector cleaner and throttle body spray but nothing works. So I was wondering if the injectors are the same with the d16z6 injectors as I still got the z6 manifold with everything on it? or should I try something else first? as for the dizzy, has anybody has this problem? The motor is froma 95 EX.

if you use the z6 injectors you need to take out your resistor box, you would take the 5 wires that go to it and solder them together.

the 5 wires going to the resistor box. The z6 injectors work without a resistor box and will burn out if you use them with one..

As a matter of fact, I still have the dizzy, ecu & complete engine and underdash harness off the z6. So which would be the easiest way to do this apart from soldering wires? Anybody whomake reasonably price piggyback adapter harness for this? and will their adapter harness also have a seperate adapter for the dizzy and vtec solenoid? Oh boy, this iz getting abit confusing now!

so basically I can keep my current set-up and use the z6 injectors on the a6 mani but just get rid of the resistor box??

Keep the resistor box and the A6 injectors. Make sure the injector plugs are nice and tight in there, sometimes those can get lose. Does ur car sound like it's running on 3 cylinders? Try this- take each injector plug off, ONE at a time, if you take one off, and nothing happens, then that tells you that there's something wrong with that plug or the wiring to that plug. I doubt it's a problem with the injector itself. For the distributor, ALWAYS use the dizzy that is used for that head....meaning use the Z6 dizzy. Just swap the plugs out for the OBD0 plugs. I would never use zipties to put my dizzy on my head. Ur gonna get oil leaks. The only time you can use an A6 dizzy is on a Y8 head...they have the SAME bolt pattern.
