? about windshield washer wires

the other day, i got my car to start. now, i must have hit some wires or something because the windshield wipers came on and the windshield washers came on also. i thought i hit the stick thingy on the steering wheel but i didn't. my uncle and i tried moving some wires on the engine and somehow the wipers stopped. So i thought it was okay. now the wipers don't work. it's not raining where i live so it is okay for now. does anyone know where the windshield wiper wires are? maybe the connectors or loose or somethign? well, thanks for listening?
