Need advice .... Stuck Throttle

Car in question is a Euro spec focus, 1999 with the 2.0 Vtech engine and 5spd manual trans. car has 100,000km (65,000 miles?) Car has been having symptions of a stuck throttle. Once car warms up and I'm driving at a steady speed if I let off the the gas the car continues at the same speed like it's on cruise control (I don't have cruise) the only way to slow down is to brake. it doesn't seem to matter what speed it is. If I pull up to a stop light and shift to nutral engine revs to about 3500RPM, if I keep car in gear not touching the clutch and brake to the point of almost stalling then push in the clutch car will idle fine. I suspect the TPS any one else have any idea's before I try that?
Just another problem along with all the others I've had.

*Failed L/H front strut
*Failed L/H rear wheel bearing
*Car will sometimes want to die in low speed L/H turns I suspect a bad fuel pump pick-up haven't tried to fix it yet
*car takes long time to heat up suspect bad thermostat
* lots of rattles under the car probably one of the dozen or so heat sheilds undernieth

I would like to bring this topic current again. Have a 2000 focus with dealer installed cruise control. Felt like the cruise control would not kick out. Neither Off switch nor brake pedal worked. Stopped and pulled the fuse on what I thought was the cruise control and still have same problem. Via phone, dealer said to disconnct batter to reset computer but made no difference.

Any updates on this issue?

whatever you do if you have warranty take it back and let them fool with it, because i had that SAME exact problem. it would turn on and IF it did sometimes it wouldn't shut off. let them deal with it so you dont screw something up lol.
