bodykit molding..

Im not sure if this is the right place or not, but here it goes anyway. Ive searched around these forums and found some useful info, but I want to make sure im doing this right.

On my side skirts theres some altering I had to do for it to fit snug in the wheel well of my car, and was a few gaps where I sanded/cut too much. So far Ive laid a layer of fiberglass, sanded it flush with the car, applied a layer of body filler, and sanded that flush with the skirt/car. Sprayed with a black primer to see if there was any other dips/scratches and sanded some more. So far its almost 100% smooth, just need to add a little more filler to fill in some gaps that I cant get out with just sanding.

Now my question is, did I do anything wrong? Anything else I should have done? And what else should I do so that when I have my car re-painted, it will look flawless? ANY help is appreciated, and thanks in advance.

PS. Yes I did sand the paint off the car/skirt before applying the fiberglass.

How much filler did you use? anything thicker than 1/8" will crack later on from being driven.

I put filler on over the gaps and just sanded until it was flush with the rest of the body/fiberglass. Most of it is gone, so Im guessing its very very thin.

if its on too thin it will not do much or the filler will crack like the other lad said. how long did you wait before adding the fibre glass and prima?

about a day before each step because i only had a few hours to do anything before work each day.

well you should be fine. just be careful not to get your colours fucked up. and you'll be right.
