Carbon Fiber Worth Getting?

How much does a carbon fiber hood actually help? I saw a scooby STi with a carbon fiber hood, and trunk and carbon fiber spoiler.
I found a carbon fiber hood I liked for 500$. Is it worth dropping that kind of cash on a hood?

It seems like CF hoods are mostly for looks. i mean yeah it takes weight off but not enough to really matter too much. like 15 pounds if that. just save the money and take out your spair tire or somethin lol

It depends what you have done. If you have stuff that adds weight to your car, and then get the CF hood.. Kinda pointless.
But if you're trying to lose weight wherever you can then the CF is a pretty good deal, they're considerably lighter than the stock one.

Well they are a lot lighter...I'm sure its much easier to lift your hood now than when u had a stock hood on.

Carbon fiber is awesome in my opinion. I love the look. I have a carbon fiber hood and I can lift it with the tip of a finger like a feather so light. You say 15 pounds so not worth it. 15 pounds here and there makes a big difference. I shave 150 pounds and we both have the same exact mods who do you think will win? Maybe not by much, but a win is a win.
Anyways, personaly I say get it if you like it. If you don't like the look and want the weight shaving paint it. Or do like the hicks here do and take your hood off.

I think if you were an all out racer it would be a good option, I am not really into the looks of it, but for 500 I would probably go with something that will increase my performance more.......but its your car, do what you think is best for your purpose...

Speaking of CF Hoods I will be selling my CF hood soon for probably like $200. It needs a respray of clearcoat but it is an excellent hood.

I wouldn't pay $500 for a CF hood, but I would pay 200-300. Too bad they dont make them for the 4g4d.
