Need help setting memory seats

I have a 2001 Nissan Quest SE. Problem I'm having is w/the memory seats. I've read the manual and it says to hold down the #1 or #2 button for a few seconds and the amber light will illuminate. Light doesn't illuminate. I've checked all the fuses, and all are good.
When we use the keyless entry, it automatically sets the seat to the previous owners desired location. I would like to know how to reset the memory seats, or just disconnect the link between the keyless remote and the memory seats. Any suggestions?
