hello all, im new to the AF and i am about to have to purchase a vehicle. i have found a 92 Mustang LX 5.0 5spd with GT ground effects and interior and 113k miles. My question is thus, are there any certain things i should look at, ie any problem areas on this particular model yr. Any comments or horrors stories are welcome. the price is also 6995 but i figure i can maybe talk them down to about 6k. anyway thanks for any help.

I have heard that the main thing in the engine that goes wrong is the water pump and the radiator. I have never really heard anything else that goes wrong. But I would send it to a repair shop and have them look at it. For $60, they will tell everything that is or could be wrong with the car, like if it has been in a wreck.

$7k is a lot of money to pay for a Stang with 113k miles on it.
That thing better be MINT for you to pay that much.
Then start saving to have the block machined and for a new set of rods, pistons and a crank. Build yourself a 331 Stroker or a 347.

Welp much to my disappointment the 92 was a peice of crap. interior looked like crap, drove like crap, shifted like crap, idled like crap. it was basically a giant 3000lb lump of crap. they had a NICE 94 on the lot. Teal with 5spd tan int, only down fall was it had 145k miles. ONly 3 owners though. I really liked that 94 it Blew me away performance wise. a friend has a 97 GT and this 94 felt like it would have left his in the dust. only had a CAI and flowmasters. i would love that car but i couldnt make myself spend 8000 on it with 145k miles. It had some 17's off a 97 cobra. o well. i guess i will find a mustang one day. otherwise ill have to lower my standards and go with GM's offerings. dont count on that one though :finger: HEY GM LOOK AT THAT :finger:
