Alright, Mercury has agreed to pay ~$455 to refinish the damaged parts of my car.
I don't wan't the damaged parts repainted- or rather I do not want JUST the damaged parts repainted. Here is the summary of my 240's paint:
Front bumper: Very faded and not glossy (Look at the pictures, I think the front bumper is not the first one to be on that car, what do you think.)
Rear bumper: Jacked up cracking every where, Mercury is paying to refinish the rear bumper in addition to the said 455
Hood: Large foggy spot on the hood, about 2 square feet total area
Roof: same as hood
Hatch/spoiler: same as hood, not quite as bad
Pass. Side: Very clean, minor dings in the door, paint is very glossy, several small blemishes
Driver side: Rear quarter and driver door are jacked up from accident, rest of the driver side is the same as pass side.
What I want:
AT LEAST Damaged area repainted, fronthood/roof/hatch repainted, and the pass. side, dings corrected, touch up/detailing as needed.
I would be willing to have the entire car repainted because it likely will be only a few dollars more. I want to take that $455 And apply it to a new paint job, Every one is telling me for the job I want, Maaco is the answer I am willing to put several hundered bucks into the paint in addition to the amount mercury is paying.
Now the questions:
Is taking it to maaco just a bad Idea? Last I checked they were something of a whipping boy.
What kind of quality should I expect for a $400/$800/$1200/$1600 Paint job?
Is there anything spesific I should watch out for when pricing a Paint job?
I don't want a half ass paint job, I want something durrable, clean, and I want the sun to blind every one that looks at my car because odds are they will not be cool enough to gaze at it's beauty.

Also please leave comments about my pants kthx.
Thanks.
EDIT: Wow, the paint does not look as good IRL as it does in these pictures ^^

i'm taking my car down to earl schieb next week because they have a deal going on right now where there best paintjob which is normally 600 bucks is only 379...they dont mix there own paint but you can find one pretty close. i talked to the lady down at maaco and she said there paintjobs with clearcoat start at 1000 which is the same thing i'm getting for 400. i figure if anything does happen to the paint, it has a 6 year warranty, and i've also noticed that most people who talk shit about maaco and earl schieb havent ever had there car painted there.here's a link to the paintjob i'm getting, the sale ends 6/30

6 year warranty on the paint for $400? thats pretty good, Of course thats probably 400+ dings. I have at least $400 in dings on the car. =(
Maaco wanted $1100 to paint my car, ($900 cheapest $1600 most expensive). 1100's not too bad, Here's my new problem though.
The driver side (rear quarter door and front fender) will all be repainted at the shop, so where ever I take the car, I only need 2/3rds of it painted, I wonder if they be able to do that, I also wonder how obvious it will be that the car was painted half at a time. =D

if you need 2/3's of it repainted then i would just get the whole thing repainted...400 plus dings is still only like 700 tops

Nono, one third of the paint is being done at the body shop, I want to take it some where else for the remaining 2/3rds of paint because the cheapest offer the body shop will make is about $2800 for the remaining 2/3rds. Actualy the guy there told me to go to maaco for the rest. =D
