Not sure whats is wrong. I changed the oil and after 200 miles the oil light comes on and I hear valves clicking. I check the oil level and it is ok. I put in another quart of oil and the clicking stopped. I drive for anotehr 50 miles and the same thing happens. When i look in the crankcase it looks dry. Could this be signs of a bad oil pump not pumping oil to the top. I cannot find any oil leaks. Is this expensive to replace?

I know this is an old post, but I'll answer anyway.
When you said the oil level was "OK", does that mean it was within it's low and high level marks on the dipstick? You then added another quart to an already "OK" level of oil. I'm thinking you have too much oil in your van and it's frothing the oil which will give you a lot of problems.

Wow.... just joined this forum due to finding the answer to the SAME problem!!!!!!
My '96 Quest has the same problem, but it is VERY inconsistant!!!!
Last time this problem happened to me, I was on my way to Texas, from Chicago..... After stopping the van for awhile, the problem went away (This was at 3:30 a.m., so no garages open...)
Took my chances & got to Texas. Figured I would give her a tune-up in Texas, but she ran fine.......SHE RAN FINE ALL THE WAY HOME TOO !!!!!!!!!!
After 7,000 miles (!), she's starting up the same problem..........?
Maybe the oil sensor is faulty................
Anyone knows where the sensor is located???????????
Thanks for any help,
Brad
