throw the 454 in it :)

It really depends on witch way you want to go, turbo, NA (nat. aspired). For 10 grand you could do just about anything you wanted.

I want some thing i can be happy to say is mine. i was thinking biggest things first like maybe a motor swap or something big to take care of and get out of the way.

what would you think about a B18C5 swap? what ECU would be best for this app. ?

work on the suspension/handling of the car then go after the engine.....

ok but for a street drag car? handling is a big thing i mean where i live .is just races from one end of the mall to the other in a strait line...it is my first import so im not to sure on what to deal with first

I would also make sure the suspension, brakes, and steering components were all good before I started building the motor up. Go fast and be safe at the same time....

ok so what kinda suspension work sould i do? besides bigger brake disks and calapers.

depends on how much money you want to invest in suspension alone. You can spend anywhere from 500-600 bucks on lowering springs and shocks all the way to 1200+ for a good coilover setup.

Start out with replacing your bushings....maybe peek at your tie rods too.

just get some nice stiff eibachs. My friend just lowered his car like 2" with eibachs and his car is so stiff you cant rock it at all really. Thats the type you want for drag.

damn if ur dropping 10 grand into a car i dont know i even want to know what the terms of the bet were, id drop a b16a1 motor, then go turbo with what u got left, if u still got money which u should, beef up ur internals. In Import Racer! magazine they built a b16 to 522hp! drop that in a crx, combined with some suspension stuff and u would have a force to be reconed with, but they estimated the engine costing 8 grand alone. Its all ur call on what u wanna do but its key to find a balance between all your mods

the terms are i hav till my 23 birthday a little over 1yr 1/2 from now and ill put about 15 t0 20 grand in it cuz winner takes cars...his is no slouch it has...racing induction, headers, exhust(sp),heads, pistons, stuff this car is sweet so im realy kinda feeling worried i took this bet only cool part is he bought the crx for me ill i hav to do is mod it

if its just a straight line just drop in a h22

so if you mod it all and he wins, he gets yoru modded car. not a good deal

give him back his car and go buy your own car and mod it so you wont lose it if you lose the race. :screwy:

get a b18c1, then throw a turbo on it and turn the boost up to 10psi, with a fully tuned hondata. thats just for the engine

i was thinking about maybe a JDM B18C5?

o and getting my own car isnt the point its a bet so what if i lose the car ill build a better one next time.

why would you waste 10 grand on a car and just lose the car and 10 grand in parts ? doesnt make sense. why not just buy yoru own car and fix it up and then race him for like 1 grand

jestersrain
06-09-2004, 12:21 AM
cuz its only 10 grand

if i were u:
- i'll drop a b18c(R) engine from jdm integra type r
- upgrade the ecu
- wild cam, upgrade the gearbox
- spoon complete intake & exhaust system
- suspension upgrade... full coil over preferable.

next.....:
- recaro seats (from jdm ITR or CTR)
- momo steering wheel (from jdm ITR or CTR)
- mugen full body kit
- te37 volk racing rim with high performance rubber
- brembo brakes (??)

hopefully that will worth $10k. my suggestion, keep the n/a system. dont turbo it.... whats the point of having vtec then u turbo it. turbo engines have tight power band, so yea.. worth to think abt.

Is it just one race? If so, then if you miss-shift you're fucked dude...haha... :disappoin The only way you can win is if you gut the car, put some good semi-slicks (for street) like Hoosiers or Kumhos get a really bad ass engine B18C5 or H22 all motor set up with Hondata electronics and remove that rev-limiter. Then if you do win, you get a nice Camaro to drive around town in and you still have a sweet drag car too.

I would go with the LS/VTEC turbo setup, with the Hondata ecu, plus throw a Zex system on there pushing the 75 shot through, and you should be able to get him easy
