Do you ever LOVE your DSM?

Ever have one of those moments where you are like "Wow, I love this POS"?
This morning I was leaving one of our remote sites where I had to do some backup administration, and pulled up to the road that runs perpendicular to the driveway of the building. I didn't see anything coming down the road to my left and instead of making my turn right then, I lit up a cigarette. As I proceed to pull onto the road, I notice an Excursion hauling ass down this 35mph road and realize I need some throttle input. I put the pedal DOWN in first, and proceeded to swing the ass end a good bit of the way around (a little into the other lane, but no traffic) before she hooked up. BAM, shift to second and plant foot again to be greeted with a lovely deep "brrrrrrrrrrrrrt" of burning tires and immediatley thereafter, that great "whiplash" feeling.
As I realize the SUV is now a half a block away from me, I let off and coast back down to the speed limit.
Ahhhh...the joy of power. :sunglasse

My car is slow and I took a Lincoln Mark 7. I would love it more if I had a turbo.

you might be a DSM owner if you ever say ^^^^^
LMAO...
i know the feeling of realizing that the little extra gas you need to get in front of somebody leaves you enough clearance to fit a big rig in between you, and in only a few seconds :) the small car in the rearview is what it is all about...
or when you make it across an intersection from a red light only to look back and realize all of the cars you were just sitting there with are just barely leaving 0mph...

When I can floor it in any gear and not break something, I might say I like the car. Cant remember the last time I said I love it though  It was a lot more rewarding with the 20g, and especially the 14b. Thats right, the car had less power, but was a lot more fun. I've always broken more than my fair share of shit, but now I do more wrneching and less racing. Ah well :D Aside from that, if I didnt love this POS, I would part it out and pay off all my bills :p But I can certainly related when you hop on it in 1 gear, and the car that was close to you is now on the other side of town...
