Hello all, It is awesome that I found this forum. I just picked up a brand new 2004 Malibu with the 2.2 ecotech engine. So far I have driven it for about 100 miles and everything seems fine. I keep reading about problems with this car but nothing really specific about the '04 model. Does anyone have any additional information about what to expect from this car. Any info is really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jim

I'm guessing Chevrolet improved in reliability on the new generation Malibu, but I could be wrong. I have a 2001 Malibu and I so far have needed to have a coolant sensor replaced and a resistor on the AC control panel replaced as well. The latter of which is a notorious problem with the previous gen Malibu. Hopefully the new gen Malibu works out for you.

I just purchased a 2004 Malibu as well. So far I love it. I did bring it in once to extinguish the airbag warning light, no big thing. We will need to keep are eye out for each other in the forum. Bob

Well Bob, we will keep in touch. So far I like the car. Even tough it is a 4 cyl and lacks the gutsy strenght of a V6 it still moves and behaves and best of all saves fuel.

Psycobadboy, thanks for your message. I have read a lot about previous models and have been wondering what will my luck be with the new '04. Hopefully everything will be fine.
