Sup I Just Installed New Custom Turbo On My Gsr. I Hooked Up A Boost Gauge ... I Am Runnin No Boost... I Will Vaccum Like 12 Psi...but When Driving I Do Not Get Boost..boost Gauge Will Only Go Straight To 0... All Piping Is Connected Tight ... I Am Runnin A T3 Turbo Internal Wastegate With 440cc Injectors.. Fmu ... Intercooler. Drag Style Manifold ....please Help

im havin the same problem with my 91 hatch , it has a t3 turbo from a saab internal wastegate and it never goes past 1 psi but i can feel it boost and even my b.o.v.makes its swoosh, but not loud like it should, any help be nice too, thanks

did you set up your guage wrong? is your BOV or wastegate stuck open?

Exhaust leak?

my guess would be you have an exhaust leak leading to the up pipe to the turbo or an intake leak. I had the same problem when i first installed my turbo kit and I thought i had everything hooked up and clamped. Turns out, my collector pipe wasnt even tighthened down.

well ive tightened everythin i dont think theres a leak i hav the bumper off and checked,it boosts just the gauge dosnt read , and its not around 7 where i want it,which way do i adjust the screw for the b.o.v to be harder to open?

Your BOV is not leaking. Boost holds the BOV shut. The wastegate is closed correct?
Try removing the intake off of the turbo and spinning the blade. It should spin freely. Look at the exhaust turbine as well and make sure it isn't scraping.
Check for vaccum leaks. 12in HG sounds low.
Not to be a douche or anything, but you do realize that the turbo will not make boost unless you put the engine under a good load(like 50%+ throttle)?
Who am I helping here? Anyways, good luck to both of you.

What the hell?! Then your BOV would never go PSSSHHHT. To adjust boost, you adjust your wastegate, but make sure you got a BOV for how much boost ur runnin.

Unless of course, you have a boost controller, then it bypasses the wastegate.

Lookie here:
1) You run a vacuum line to the BOV correct?
2) When vacuum is present, the BOV opens easily or actually does open depending on how stiff the spring is or is adjusted
3) When the compressor is making boost, the vacuum line running to the BOV is pressurized.
4) So pressure on the diaphram is the same as pressure on the valve face. But the diaphram also has a spring or possible two to keep more force on that side of the valve than the bypass side.
5) When you let off the gas, the throttle blade closes and immediatly there is a vacuum in the intake manifold. Immediately the vacuum line running to the BOV is under vacuum again.
6) There is now more pressure on the valve face than there is on the diaphram.
7) What happens? The valve opens.

Good point.

Not quite. The reason why there's a wastegate is because it takes some of the load off the BOV/DV, reducing the chances of compressor surge.
Now, to the problem of the Boost Guage not reading right... It's hooked up correctly, right?

What the hell!??
A boost controller does not bypass the wastegate. The wastegate is the valve that allows excess exhaust to pass the turbine by so you don't over boost. A boost controller merely controls the wastegate. You still need a wastegate with a boost controller.
I don't know what you're trying to say with "takes some load off of the BOV/DV"... if you're limiting your boost(this IS what the wastegate's function is) because you're worried your BOV is too weak, you need some balls and a new BOV.

You're right, I got confused...
That whole "boost controller bypasses the wastegate" thing threw me for a loop...
