Headlight Problem

I am having a problem with the headlights on my 1989 BMW 525i going out intermitantly. Based on a few previous discussion threads, it appears this may be caused by the K3 or K4 relay or the light control module (LKM). Where are the relays and LKM located? Are these fairly simple to replace?
Thanks!
Thanks!

the problem IS the LKM, a rectangular black box you've seen in the front 'E' box [fuse box]. it's marked LKM and just pulls out next to the 'check control' module box. the 'lamp relay' problem concerns only left or right running lamps going out.

Thanks for all your responses. I appreciate the confirmation regarding the headlight issue. It sounds like an easy fix. After just signing up for this site, it has already been quite beneficial.

My high beams didn't work. I checked the fuses, and they looked fine. I replaced them with brand-new ones, and ta daaa! High beams worked again.
I always recommend replacing all the fuses if your car is from the eighties. I bought my kit on eBay for $10.

Fuse and bulb checks are good tips for everyone! E32's and later BMW's have different lamp circuitry than your '85. NOTE, the high beams ARE NOT controlled by the LKM on later BMW's [fail-safe reasons], i suppose. jb
