hi, i've been looking for one of these for quite awhile and i think i finally found one. i've always wanted one of these cars, but i never thought i'd find one in my price range.

anyways, the car is being sold by an old man who doesn't want to bother with the manual transmission anymore. it's a 1991 3000GT SL. it's red with tan leather interior. it's in really good condition inside and out for being a 14 year old car. it has 108000 miles on it. the guy just put new wheels and brakes on it. he was also going to fix a few cosmetic flaws for me. he is asking $4950 for it.

i'm 17 and this will be the first car that I buy. I've been driving my parents 92 Ford Tauros for the last year and driving this car was quite an experience. i've been trying to find a new car for about 2 months now. i looked at all kinds of cars and i couldn't find anything i was completely happy with. hopefully this will be it. the only flaws i can find in it is that it smells like smoke and it doesn't have a sunroof, but i can live with those things if it's a good deal.

so do you guys think this is worth getting? should i offer less? keep looking? it felt pretty smooth when i drove it, but then again that's not saying a whole lot compared to what i've been driving, so i might take it to a dealership and have them look it over. also, how reliable are these cars and how much do they usually cost to repair?

well, i guess that's all for now. i just wanted to see what some 3000GT owners thought of the deal. thanks

Almost 5K for a 91 SL with over a hundred thousand miles..... If the mechanics of the car are in fantastic condition and he has had all the maintenance done for the car then maybe. But, for an SL of that age, I'd think you could find something under 4K in great condition.

well if you want it go for it. Mine is a 95 base in about perfect condition for 5900 and i think it was worth it. If it is in like crap condition keep looking but if you think its in great condition and u have the money its your choice.
