Does anyone know if the valve cover gaskets can be changed without removing the upper intake manifold on a V6 3.4eng. 1995 Firebird
There is about 1/2 inch of room from the upper intake manifold and the valve cover, I'm not sure if that will be enough room to get it off, and the book says you have to remove it to change the valve cover gaskets.

U smoking white?
I have the same problem but I have a 305 in my bird. So I am not sure if you have to remove the upper intake manifold. I know that you have to do it on 4's maybe on 6's but I dont think you need to do it on the 8's.
However, if you want the job done right, you might as well move it and have a clear view to change those suckers.
Good luck.
