Break-in Unsuccessful I have a 96' Acura Integra and the perps. pried open my hood (engine bay) and cut my alarm's wiring and disconnected my car's battery, attempting to steal my car. I've hooked up my battery & now my car won't start. Does anyone know why or what I can do to start it so I can get home? Thanks!

Well what's going on when you try to start it? Does it do absolutly nothing when you turn the key? Does it turn over but just not fire up? What?

So it basically acts like the battery is dead when you try to start it? That's not what's wrong I'm sure, but the same symptoms? Does your interior lights come on, like the dash lights and stuff?

Sure sounds like the alarm is still active. I know on Python/Viper alarms, you have to press disarm 2 times in a row to get it to disarm while it was going off.

your car wont start because of the alarm system. My friend had a similar problem with his car. Someone tryed to break into the car, they smashed the window out. When he go to his car he tryed to start it. Nothing at all. We had to have the car towed to a shop. They had to disarm the alarm. He couldnt get it shut off at all. When they did that the car started right up. I guess it acts as a protection so that you cant start the car.

The dash comes on and the lights come on. Everything works, except that it doesn't start. There is no engine turning and I know the alarm is going off, even though the wire to the alarm (horn) has been cut.

the alarm is stock and it won't turn off. My car won't start and I'm thinking perhaps it has a kill switch.

The perps forced their way in through my hood and cut the wiring to my alarm and disconnected my battery. I don't know what else they did, but I know they didn't get inside my vehicle since all my things were still there. I'm just not sure what kind of damage they did under the hood. I was just curious if there was a way other than getting it towed to the dealer, to start my Acura.

the wire for the starter proably goes through the alarm. the alarm just doesnt connect it. its a pretty thick wire so u can just connect it manually and the car should fire up. is it a manual or auto? cuz if its manual u can just pop the clutch. like turn the key to on and then push the car, put it in 1st then just drop the clutch wjile the car is moving.

Hmm...But the car alarm is still going off, even with the alarm (horn) wiring cut off. But at this point anything is worth trying. I do have a manual Integ. Thanks for the advice!
