I learned to work on cars in my late teens out of necessity (I was usually broke). I fixed many a Volkswagon with the help of John Muir's book "How to keep your Volkswagon alive-step by step procedures for the complete idiot". Over the years my backyard repairs evolved into somewhat of a rewarding hobby (although I used alot of foul language while in it's pursuit). At 50, my health started to fail so I had to cut back some. Some of the family cars I now have to trust to outsiders.
I still save my beloved leather embellished land yacht (Buick Roadmaster Wagon) for myself though.
Best regards,
r.h.p.
P.S. I still have a air cooled VW beetle planted out back just for the
visual effect. One of those projects you never get around to after
having 3 kids.
