raced a cop...his idea

where i live all my tuner buddies have a local hangout/racing spot. after 11:00 hardly any traffic. its an every weekend thing. time after time the cops show up to check on us. they get out, small talk, tell us to behave and so on.....very nice guys actually. one night the new cop shows up and we dont know what to say cause he says nothing and walks around for about a minute (25 cars w/ drivers...dead silent). finally he says "whos got the fastest ride"...not one answer. "come on now, i know what yall do down here...i bet its this mustang.." my buddys 99 gt ...purple and very sharp. imediatly he the stang owner says "not me, that escort over there is your best bet"... i was like oh shit...... he comes over and says "is that tru"....i say "its a four banger ,,what do you think"....."well all your freinds are saying its so, so lets see it...you and me from that light to exxon....you win and all your buddys are exempt from harrassament and bs tickets. but you lose and you all never come back... "
i took my 95 lx with a gt swap, port and polished head, bored .5 over, hypercramatic pistons, pace setter header, and the big 125 shot of nos and spanked his ass......he came back after the race just to tell my friends that i "spanked his ass"......

I agree but I just don't care about the mods of his car its the simple fact that a cop can lose his job and whatnot for even doing that...remember the law is to "Protect and to Serve" and they're out racing with a bunch of teenagers on a street....not cool...not cool at all...

I don't like to say people are BS'ers either but if smells like Bullshit, and it looks like bullshit...it's problably bullshit!! This is why I think it is a bunch of crap!!

1. My dad was a cop for over 20 years. In my experience w/ cops, I have heard ALL OF THEM talk big about what they would like to do when they pull people over: like race little punk kids, take the drugs from a bust and not report it, stuff like that) I have plenty of stories that I could tell about cops that would make a lot of people mouths drop....BUT NEVER HAVE I HEARD A COP RACING SOMEONE!!! Especially, in a police car!! Do you know what would happen to him if he got caught? He would lose his job and never be able to get another job as a cop again! That would mean he would've gone to police academy for nothing.

2. In my experience w/ cops they ALL have a chip on their shoulder. (even if they are the coolest person off the job) A badge gives them the right to drive faster than you whenever they want...why would they race you? They don't like street racers and they don't like punk kids that sit around on the weekends in small towns waiting for the cops to leave so that they can race up and down the street.

3. If you do have nitrous and beat that cop I can guarantee you he would never have let you get away w/ it. He would have stopped you and made some lame ass excuse about "him having to do it because you used nitrous" Do you know how dangerous it is to use that shit on the street? W/ a cop? THERE IS NO WAY!!!!

4. HE WOULD NEVER HAVE WENT BACK AND TOLD THE OTHER GUYS STILL SITTING THERE (like they would not have followed you to watch...didn't you say these were tuner buddies?)THAT YOU HAD SPANKED HIS ASS!!! Come one dude ... cops don't have to prove to you they can beat you in a race .... because they can!! :bs:No one can be that stupid!! Thing is ... cops can play unfair and get away with it!! You can't!!

The only thing that gives me pause about the story being bs is his car. Usually, at least in my experience, people that are bullshitting say they drive something way over the top. If he said he drove a mk 4 supra turbo, I'd say BS right away, but as it stands, I'll wait and see if he has a response.

This can be a very believable story.Didn't your hear about those two cops that went to the street races and started blasting music on there equipment.Someone was hurt badly an the cops were in big shyt!

This story can be true,just think about it like this.Some newb cop is trying to get in good with the crowd.They do this so that they can be trusted so they can be the "well known and liked" cop in town.There are a few of these type of cops in my area.Now, they don't street race like this though, there way is more suttle.Let me explain.

Me an my buddy pull up in his 13 sec. turbo Crx to a red light next to (we'll just call him cop X) cop X.Cop X looks over at us an is tellin us it's been awhile since we've seen him an we just joke around really quick.Mind you there are no cars around.We notice he starts nudging forward...........now everyone nows this means the car is waiting to jump on the green light.I look at my buddy and say "dude your fukking kidding me right!" he looks at me and says "time to have some smoked bacon!"

Light turns green and my buddy lets him get a jump just to make sure he was gonna floor it.Cop X floors it and takes off in his crown vic cruiser.My buddy feathers it from first (due to traction problems he has) and them slams into 2nd with some tire slippage.We hit 3rd gear and we start reeling in Cop X.We fly by him and we see him laughing his ass off, from excitement i guess.My buddy gets off the throttle and drops it in 5th to cruise and he pulls up next to us just laughing and making fun of how my buddies exhaust sounds(he's a domestic guy).We laugh and notice that the next light comming up has cross traffic stopped at their light.Cop X see's this an yells pull over!So we were like oh shyt, this sucks.He throws on his lights and we pull over.He goes flying by the light and is just gone.

Well, about 2 weeks after, we run into him off duty.It was at In N Out.He walks up to us and starts doing the funny exhaust sound he does.We turn around an see him doing this an walk over to him.We asked him about why he throw on his lights.He said he does it so it doesn't seem like he's racing, just trying get through traffic like there was a call.

You guys can believe this or not, but these types of things do happen.It's just not an everyday occurance.

well, to everyone who dont believe .....piss off. i dont care if your daddy is a cop. no. 1 we are not a bunch of teenagers, im 28, and most of my buds are the same age. we're not the honda crowd, or v8 crowd....we all just have 1 thing in common...speed and having fun.
no 2...i live in a small town and everyone knows every cop by name. most dont have a chip on their shoulder and are very easy going (in my town) but at 3 in the morning and nothing going on, they get bored and come check on us and small talk. the cop who raced was trying to get the mustang to run him cause he is a big mustang fan. i did it because i said "what the hell" you know? all of my buds saw what happened, and the cop knew it...he was just having fun too. not everyone in the world is uptight. no cops racing isnt an uncommon thing. I work nights so i usually drive home around 1 AM. Well normally their arent many cop cars on the road, untill one night i saw 3 cop cars racing down a 3 2 lane road with a middle turn lane. I couldnt believe it either but there they were, 3 cops, racing with no lights on.

racing a cop? ex-cop or off duty racing a cop would be more of a likely scenario.

otherwise it just sounds like a story that was passed on from a friend of a friend. If you are for real, then good for you otherwise what are you trying to prove?

I totally believe it why wouldnt a cop race. He has like nothing to lose, well exept maybe his career, his dignity, spend time in jail, etc but thats nothing big right. I think a cop would think about the consequences of a street race going bad and him being tossed in the slammer for the rest of his life, but thats just my opinion
