trying to show up a z28? with an automatic 4 banger and 3000 to pour into it?

I'm assuming by your mention of the stock turbo that its a 1.8t

in your position, id do this:

1. rachet shifter
2. intake (i recommend k&n)
3. full exhaust (including a high flow cat)
4. then, the equalizer, nitrous. get a dry kit, capable of around 50-75 hp (i recommend ZEX for ease of use and instalation)

then, after the nos kit (sense you already have a turbo) get a good ignition kit with cooler (temp wise) spark plugs, and get a racing fuel pump and tune it with your air/fuel controller. make sure you're always running a safe mix of fuel and air.

make sure you have a pro go through and make sure you didnt (and arent going to) fuck anything up.

then, smoke a GT, and make sure people see it. after that, you'll never have to run nitrous again, and can just tool around, and people will know you own.

other than that, you can always run it into a tree and use the insurance to get a manual :D

prsonally id just chip it and go with a custom exhaust and torque converter with an intake plus weight redux to the max everything you dont think you need needs to go

Dahlback chip, Some sort of filter element for yer stock airbox and drill that out, GHL 3" Turbo back exhaust, Forge/Dahlback diverter valve,
pastably an autotech 10lb flywheel, a Spec clutch kit...and finally an IC...that'll run about $3000ish without install.
nitrous sucks and your transmission is fine for now.
