oil on spark plugs????

i decided to take out my spark plugs and take a look at them,,,, keep in mind they are a month old..... so i pulled 2,4,6,8..... they had oil on the spark plug threads...look at the picture.... im thinking back rings,,,, what kind of test do you recomend... clt test or compresion test???

i would have oiled the threads putting them in...it wouldnt hurt anything..news

I had the same problem, it is most likely a very small leak in the valve cover gasket. If it doesn't fill the spark plug hole I'm not going to worry about it too much. You'd have so much BLUE smoke it would look like a fogger if you had rings so bad your threads were coated in oil like mine were on cylinder 1.
