2000 Buick Regal A/c Control Problem

THE A/C FAN STARTED GOING ON/OFF WHEN DRIVING AND I LOSE A/C, I NOTICED THAT THE IF YOU CHANGE THE SPEED THAT IT WOULD COME BACK ON AND THEN CERTAIN SPEEDS STARTED QUITING AND NOW NONE WORK. I HAVE TAKEN IT OUT AND I NOTICED THERE ARE 3 PLUGS ON THE BACK AND IF YOU TAKE THE MIDDLE ONE OFF THE FAN WILL COME ON AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS ON HIGH ONLY BUT THE A/C WILL NOT AND THE A/C LIGHT IS VERY DIM. IF I PLUG IT BACK UP IT WILL KICK SOME KIND OF RELAY ON THE RESISTOR PART I REPLACED. THIS IS DUAL CONTROL AND IT IS NOT DIGITAL. I REPLACED THE RESISTOR UNDER THE DASH BECAUSE IT HAD A BURNED SPOT ON IT. cAN ANYONE HELP? I AM LOST AND I CAN'T TAKE OUR BABY ANYWHERE BECAUSE IT IS IN THE HIGH 90'S. THANKS!!!

Have you lost your A\C or have you lost your fan controll? Or both? AC and the fan are two different things.

P.S. Check your caps lock please.

The fan will only come on if it is on High only and the middle plug on the back of the climate control panel. The A/C will not come on at all even if the middle plug is connected or not. If the middle plug is connected and you try to turn the fan on the relay that is on the resistor will click 1 time and the voltage is changed from 12v to about 3v. Note : If the middle plug is diconnected and you turn the fan on High the fan will come on after about 1 minute and if you connect that middle plug while the fan is running on High the relay on the resistor will click 1 time and the fan will Quit. So that tells the story, I do not have fan or A/C. I replaced the resistor about a week ago and that did not take care of the problem. The old resistor was bad and it had 2-3 spots on the board that was burned. Note: When this started cutting off it would go on/off when it felt like it and then each speed started going and then it all quit. The light that should come on when the A/C button is pushed is very dim when the motor is not hooked up. I hope that helps Thanks Roger

Ok I can't walk you throught the eletrical for your fan (never done it before.) but, the AC I can help with You need to find the pressure switch on the high pressure side of the AC system. disconnect the pig tail exposing two female spade connectors(inside the pigtail. Use a jumper wire to jump them across. Your compressor clutch should click on. Do that and then we will go from there.
