My right rear window stopped working. I press the window switch and nothing happens. It happened without any warning and is in the down postion. Is it the motor or a relay switch? How easy is it to fix? Please help..

ouch, thats a tough one. Does the rear window switch work? I assume it does not so it is probably the motor. Sometime if you bang on a stuck motor it will work again. You can try pounding on the door with the soft part of your fist.

You will probably have to take the rear door panel off and see if it works when you jump power to it. They don't make power window motors like they used to. I've only replaced one on my 71 Riviera and it has been well used over the years.

try to get it up with the master switch and with the switch on that door panel if all of your other windows are working more than likelly its you motor. Also wait for some time and try to roll it up again sometimes they overheat and stop working once they cool off a little they will work fine again.

I have a 92 Camry that the power window just sort of flumphed down into the door. The problem was a broken regulator. If yours broke while the window was down it would explain it. This system is a motor that pulls up and down on a cable under very high tension; unfortunately the cable anchor points are plastic and they will let go sometimes.

I was able to repair this myself; the part costs about $75 at the Toyota dealer. It was pretty straightfoward to put in, but you have to be careful not to let the tension off on the new unit, or you will be buying another one. The unit does not come with a motor. If the motor is bad, it could cost lots more.

Try getting the door apart and pushing up on the glass. If it moves fairly easily, it's probably the regulator.

BTW, I do have a 4Runner, too. Thankfully haven't had this problem with it!

Good luck!

I've had my switch stick (spilled coffee) in the down position. It didn't work a few minutes but I was able to raise it using the key switch in the trunk lid.
