Mine is now whining constantly and it is getting annoying as I hear it when I'm idling, and I don't like that sound coming from my baby. The car only has 50k on it, you think it's time for a new one, or can I hold out until the 60k tuneup?

You can probably hold out. Mine started doing the same thing. The whining does get worse though. I'm pretty sure it's no real threat to your motor, it's just really annoying...

alarm bells ringing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont forget although you may not have done the milage on that belt, age of the belt is also important.timing belts do harden and crack over time, officially they should be changed every 60000 or 5 years what ever comes first so be careful!!!!!!!!

That's what I was kinda thinking. Damn I hate being broke. Now the boost controller and downpipe are getting pushed back again.
