hey guys,
ok, i am wanting to do a swap sometime to go to manual from my automatic i have now. evidently my motor and tranny are the dodge cuz they are reversed from the mitsubishi. people at my local dealer said that i need a transmission off of a 420A engine and that should bolt straight up. so im askin if anyone knows a good spot to look for used ones and if it has to b off of an eclipse or just any 420A engine. cuz i was also told that the gen1 would bolt up as long as its the 420A engine so any help would b greatly appreciated..... thnx

OK, turbo-ing you 420a will be far from easy. To get the turbo and everything on itll set you back at the very very least 1000$. Thats with stock turbo and a sidemount. Theres not a whole lot to do to the 420a except basic intake exhaust and headers. If your looking for more speed sell your 99 and get an older turbo model. If you like you car keep it but dont expect much gain without a lot of $

this is an easy one....you should go to ebay and type in 420a parts....im sure you'll find a good used tranny and a turbo for cheap but make sure their a loyal seller. Also you can call a few junk yards and ask for it.

Do a search for Japanese engines and you will get about 50 hits from companies that sell imported motors and trannies. They have about 30-40k on them and are much cheaper than going with a domestic reseller. I bought an imported engine & tranny for my 90 GSX and they worked great.
