Hello, I am new to this forum. I own a 1971 Jaguar XKE V12 that has developed an odd problem. It won't start or restart without a shot of starting fluid. I have replaced the battery and I use 90 octane gas (the highest I can find in Amarillo Texas). Once I get it started it runs fine. Do any of you have any suggestions as to what the proble could be/possible solutions? Thanks.

Its probably a problem with the Carbs. Series 3's have Zenith Stromburgs, that are notorious for problems. Most likley the problem is in your choke. Check to see if your choke is functioning properly. These carberators realy hate to start without the choke on initial startup.
Worse case scenario is you may need a new choke cable. Because the fact that the car runs fine when hot suggest that choke is screwy and may need attending.
Hope that helps.
