Well I have a 1964 Ford Falcon. It has sat under our carport for the past five yrs. Since I am 15 now, I've been messing with it trying to fix it up so I can drive it when I'm 16. I realized the brakes didn't work, so I figured it needed some break fluid,so I put some in and pumped the brakes and the worked, but after letting off the brakes for a few seconds if I pushed them again they didn't work. So I pushed them again and they did. I realized that I have to pump the break once then press it for them to work. Is there something wrong or am I just stupid and it is completely normal?

sounds like you have air in the lines. You need to bleed the air out. You'll need some one to help you do this. One person to work the brake pedal while you bleed the air out at each wheel.
